The dial is a kabuto — the helmet of a samurai — rendered in black urushi lacquer with gilded maedate, chased gold foliage and vermilion silk cords. Every aperture is set in a raised gold bezel, the way a case is finished on a fine mechanical watch.
⚙ LIVE SKELETON MOVEMENT
Two apertures open onto the movement running behind the plate. Four wheels turn at their own independent rates, so what you see through the openings is never the same twice.
🎨 THREE DIAL THEMES
Kogane (gold), Shirogane (silver) and Akagane (copper). The lacquer and the vermilion cords stay as they are — only the metal changes.
🗡 FOUR HAND COLOURS
Kin, Gin, Shu and Kohaku. Mix any hand colour with any dial theme; the sweeping second hand stays vermilion so the time is always easy to pick out.
🔴 TWO COMPLICATIONS
